About me

Hi, I’m Benedek Nagy (Nagy Benedek in Hungarian name order), a Computer Engineering student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), currently writing my BSc thesis. Since summer 2025 I’ve been working as a software developer at Nitrowise Labs in Budapest.

At Nitrowise I started with the Nitro-Nova Backend Academy, then spent a year on the reporting module of an energy management system. Since summer 2026 I’ve been building LLM-based products with Java 25, Spring Boot 4 and Spring AI: an AI-assisted process discovery platform and a marketing automation and content generation engine. Besides the backend I also build frontends: React and Angular interfaces, with AI-assisted development.

I work with AI from two sides. As a developer, agentic development is part of my everyday work: for each project I set up MCP servers, skills, rules and (sub)agents. In the products, I keep the LLM inside verifiable boundaries: JSON Schema validation, tests and deterministic logic around it.

My biggest personal project is MotoRun. It started in 2024 as an offline-first Android app for motorcycle orienteering races. In spring 2026 I replaced its Firebase backend with my own Spring Boot Modulith server, and in my thesis I’m extending it with auditable race scoring and a Compose Multiplatform web admin interface.

Electronics and computers have shaped my path since 2015, and since 2020 IoT, PCB design and 3D printing have been part of my everyday life. In projects like the air quality monitor and the smart geocache, I try to find solutions by combining my hardware and software knowledge. The smart geocache was a joint project with my friend Péter Mikulás. In my free time I’m into FDM printers, photography, video and flying drones, which keep inspiring my creative problem solving.

Both in my studies and in practice, I strive to combine engineering precision with technological innovation to contribute to solving the challenges of the future.

Agentic AI assisted implementation of a Keycloak-secured REST API and RBAC, building a multi-stage streaming (SSE) content generation engine with Spring AI, developing campaign and article revision tracking with Hibernate Envers, engineering multi-channel marketing output and editorial review workflows, implementing a bidirectional asynchronous Git synchronization and publishing pipeline, and establishing automated Playwright and Testcontainers test suites.

    Development of an AI-assisted process discovery platform and legacy view layer. Design and agentic implementation of the session engine and tree-based versioning, engineering the REST view layer and OpenAPI contracts for frontend integration, development of real-time Server-Sent Events streaming, implementing multi-user collaborative locking and lease management, building an LLM evaluation pipeline with JSON Schema validation, and setting up Keycloak-based RBAC and integration tests.
